Royal Knights and Seven Great Demon Lords

Royal Knights:
The Royal Knights uare a group of thirteen Mega-level Holy Knight Digimon that are the Digital World's sacred guardians, and are famed among Digimon as guardian deities of theComputer Network. The group was founded byImperialdramon Paladin Mode, and serves Yggdrasill.Because the Royal Knights are placed in the highest ranks of Network Security, it is absolutely impossible to violate Security in their presence. Based on a certain "Prophecy" handed down from the ancient Digital World, it is said that the Royal Knights will assemble at the time of the Digital World's greatest crisis.
Most of the Royal Knights are Human Digimon, although there are a few with bestial forms.Like historical knights, some of the Royal Knights are the lords of other types of Digimon, although they are all subservient to Yggdrasill. Furthermore, each of the Royal Knights possesses a dogma that it believes in.Many of the Royal Knights also have alternate Modes or X-Antibody forms, which are generally still considered Royal Knights.

Seven Great Demon Lords:
The Seven Great Demon Lords are a group of Demon Lord Digimon who each represent one of the Seven Deadly Sins. They are based on various demons from within Judeo-Christian mythology, a reference to Peter Binsfeld's classification of demons, most notably Paradise Lost by John Milton and Clavicula Solomonis Regis, an anonymous 17th-century grimoire. There are also two "Super Demon Lords" who are closely related to the group.
The Seven Great Demon Lords are the chief nobility of the Dark Area, and each member has the right to command legions of the "Nightmare Soldiers", if they so wish. They are also able to subvert the cycle of reincarnation presided over byAnubimon; instead of having the chance to be reborn, the data of their victims becomes their own flesh and blood. Despite their might, certain other demonic Digimon, such asGranDracmon, are powerful enough to stand outside their authority.

Digital World

Digital World:
The
Digital World is a fictional universe featured in the Digimon media franchise. In Digimon animemangavideo games, and other related merchandise, the Digital World (orDigiWorld for short) is a parallel universe to Earth that was made from computer data originating in Earth'scommunications networks.
Overview:

According to the video game Brave Tamer, the Digital World's beginnings can be traced to the early twentieth century, with the activation of the Atanasoff–Berry Computer (ABC)—the first computer—which laid the basic foundations of the world. Subsequently, the first patented computer, ENIAC, was activated, and proceeded to build upon those foundations, shaping the Digital World. Over the ensuing years, through the continued growth of the electronic communications network on Earth, the Digital World continued to expand and grow, even after the ABC and ENIAC were shut down. There are multiple alternate reality incarnations of the Digital World, each one running parallel with the various multiple Earths that exist in the multiverse.
The different Digimon anime series are set in separate Digital Worlds. The basic mechanics, locations and inhabitants of Digital World appear in each, though the individual natures, origins, and histories of the worlds vary greatly. Similarities between the various Digital Worlds exist, however. They all basically parallel Earth'sgeographic features. There are continents, islands, deserts, mountains, oceans and almost all other kinds of terrain one finds on the topography of Earth. However, as data is easy to modify, and considering that the Digital World is made up of data, the features of any particular area of DigiWorld are subject to immediate and drastic alteration at any time. For example, a gigantic mountain can be formed in moments Enter The Dark Mastersor portions of islands can be scattered across a sea Evil Shows His Face with ease. The malleability of the Digital World makes it a frequent target of attack from within and from humans with malevolent intentions.
Although ordinary animals like birds and fish are known to exist in at least some of the Digital Worlds, the dominant lifeforms of all realities are Digimon. Digimon are sentient creatures that, like the Digital World, are made of data. It is possible for Digimon to travel to the "Real World," what Digimon call Earth, though this requires the opening of some sort of dimensional wormhole in Digital World.
Most of humanity does not know of Digital World's existence. The few humans that do either programmedsome aspect of the original version of that world or were summoned there by a Digimon or another digital being. On rare occasions, however, a wormhole can appear on Earth, allowing people unknowing of the Digital World to enter it.
File Island is the setting for the original Digital Monster toy, the Devimon arc of Digimon AdventureDigimon World,Digimon World Re:Digitize and Decode, and Digimon Crusader. It is located a little off the coast of the Server Continent.
In Digimon Adventure, during Devimon's first attack on the kids, he splits the island into several islets in order to separate them. Evil Shows His FaceHowever, the island is reformed after the Black Gears on each islet are destroyed. Subzero Ice Punch! A Clue From The Digi-Past The Dancing Digimon
After Apocalymon is defeated, the Digital World begins reformatting, starting with File Island and spreading outward. The Fate of Two Worlds
In Digimon Crusader, Digimon armies from all corners of File Island have been in a perpetual struggle leaving the island in ruins. Unhappy with the state of the world, Ophanimon summons the player – a crusader – to the Digital World to unite the island.

Digimon(Digital Monsters)

Beginning:
Digimon
short for "Digital Monster" are mysterious lifeforms that were discovered in the Computer Network in 1997. They are central to the Digimon franchise. The word "Digimon" is typically invariable in the plural, though there are some cases where the term is pluralized as "Digimons". Digimon include almost all the creatures that reside within a parallel universe called the "Digital World." There are many different species of Digimon, as well as unconfirmed and new generations of Digimon yet to be revealed. The rate of new Digimon species continuously increase as the Digital World expands each year.

Characteristics:
Digimon hatch from eggs called Digi-Eggs . They age via a process called "Digivolution" which changes their appearance and increases their physical powers. Some Digimon act feral, like wild animals. Most, however, possess human intelligence, speech, and personality traits. It was mentioned that, if a partner Digimon were to be separated from their partner, then they would start to become weaker. The first Digimon anime introduces the Digimon life cycle: they age in a similar fashion to real living organisms, but do not die under normal circumstances because they are made of reconfigurable data. Old Digimon and Digimon who receive fatal wounds dissolve into infinitesimal bits of data. The data then recomposes itself as a Digi-Egg, and the Digimon goes through its life cycle again. Digimon who are reincarnated in this way will sometimes retain some or all their memories of their previous lifespan. However, if a Digimon's data is "downloaded" as demonstrated in Digimon Tamers, in which all the data of a dying Digimon is absorbed by another, or if the data is completely deleted or destroyed, as happens in Digimon Data Squad, it will permanently die. In special cases, some Digimon do not get reincarnated despite their data still existing.

Digivolution is a legendary power and the process by which a Digimon "ages" and grows up into larger and more powerful forms. Although the word "Digivolution" is a portmanteau for "Digital Evolution", Digivolution is in fact more similar to metamorphosis in that Digivolution changes a Digimon from one form to another, sometimes wildly disparate form, very quickly.
Digivolution for Digimon is similar to aging for humans—it is generally a one-way journey whereby a Digimon will grow into a new form as they age and gain battle experience and data. However, moving from one form to another becomes progressively more difficult. Therefore, very few Digimon will ever naturally digivolve into their final most powerful forms.
However, for the Digimon who are partnered with human allies such as Tamers or DigiDestined, Digivolution becomes far more flexible. Digimon who form bonds with a human are able to digivolve more easily, generally through the use of a Digivice owned by the human. In such cases, the Digimon is channeled large amounts of energy and is therefore able to instantaneously digivolve to a higher level. However, these Digimon will generally de-digivolve or degenerate back into a lower form after a fight. Digimon partnered to humans are also commonly able to use special forms of Digivolution not naturally available, giving these Digimon many different forms. These include Armor Digivolution and Biomerge Digivolution.
